What we believe

Our beliefs shape how we understand God, how we follow Jesus and how we serve others. Each belief is explained clearly below, with the church’s complete statement available when you open it.

You do not need to agree with or understand everything before visiting. We want to be honest about what we believe, and you are always welcome to come, listen and ask questions.

We are a group of followers of Jesus Christ who love Him and seek to serve Him by serving people.

Our purpose is to carry the good news of Jesus Christ to as many people as we can.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.”
Matthew 22:37-39
The Bible is God's Word

We believe the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

There is one eternal God

We believe there is one eternal God who created all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

Sin separates us from God

We believe sin has separated each of us from God and from His purpose for our lives.

Jesus Christ reconciles us to God

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man, and that He is the only One who can reconcile us to God.

He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

Forgiveness and new life are found in Jesus

We believe that to receive forgiveness and the new birth, we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives.

Water baptism and the Holy Spirit

We believe that to live the holy and fruitful lives God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Church and meeting together

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the importance of believers meeting regularly for fellowship, prayer and communion.

God gives each person purpose

We believe God has individually equipped us to fulfil His purpose for our lives: to worship Him, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

Healing and transformation

We believe God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives and help others more effectively.

Our response to Jesus has eternal significance

We believe our response to the Lord Jesus Christ determines our eternal destination: Heaven or hell.

Jesus Christ will return

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again, just as He promised.

You do not need to have everything worked out before you come.

Whether you have followed Jesus for many years, are returning to church, or are simply exploring what Christians believe, you are welcome to visit.
